Day of Silence

Today Tuesday, December 18th, is a blogger day of silence.

This terrible tragedy is beyond words and tears, but that is all I have right now.  There is a wonderful organization called The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services where you can make a donation.

“Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area.

ANY DONATIONS MADE TO NEWTOWN YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO THOSE EFFECTED BY THE SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SHOOTING.”

Please visit THIS PAGE to make your donation.

  1. I’m at a total loss. It’s impossible to understand how this tragedy could occur. My condolences to all victim and their near and dear ones.

    1. As a teacher it has cut me to the core Katarina…it is impossible to understand but what is more impossible to understand is the idea that we should have more guns in schools and society to fix this problem…so sad.

  2. I haven’t been able to watch most of the news coverage because it is so horrific..but more guns.. no we don’t need more guns..we need more gun control and better mental health services….but that is just how I feel…

    1. It is still a shock for me and there are still tears. I was an elementary school teacher and this is so close to home. I can only hope that we will make significant changes in the right direction. Parents are scared and many want to arm schools. It is just not the answer.
