In a Vase on Monday – Turning to Fall

“As Summer turns her face to Fall, The birds, the bees, the butterflies call.” ~Donna Donabella, Turning To Fall, A Journey of Seasonal Wisdom

This time of year is precious. Each minute of daylight is celebrated as the sun sinks earlier and earlier into its setting. The air starts to cool and I wake up to dew. The days warm and the lazy bees keep collecting pollen albeit in slow motion.

I love when we warm back up before that first frost. Each week there are more chores to be done in the garden. I take it slow now too.

This week I still have dribs and drabs of flowers blooming so I picked them and made this homage to summer turning to fall.

I love the rich darker” fallish” colors of marigolds, pink annual geraniums, zinnias, cosmos and Night Butterfly dahlia as the cherry on top.

As fall moves along, what are you doing to celebrate this season?

With this vase, I am linking in with the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at  Rambling in the Garden.
