“True love is not a strong, fiery, impetuous passion. It is, on the contrary, an element calm and deep. It looks beyond mere externals, and is attracted by qualities alone. It is wise and discriminating, and its devotion is real and abiding.” ~Ellen G. White
My husband once again came home with beautiful flowers from the grocery store. I was not expecting them since I had flowers in the garden. But he found some he wanted me to have. (I know…he is special)!
He is fond of getting me Alstroemeria and these had not opened yet. We were both excited to see what color they might turn into. As they opened they were a pale purple, a lavender hue. I think this variety might be called ‘Purple Passion’.
I became curious about these flowers to see if they had any significant meaning in, The Language of Flowers. Their meaning is quite beautiful; friendship, love, strength and devotion. They’re often thought to represent mutual support.
This flower is perfect for to represent our relationship, friendship and marriage. One of helping each other through the difficulties of life.
This beautiful flower has lasted 3 weeks so far. Quite extraordinary. Just like my wonderful relationship with my husband. We will be celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary in a little over 6 weeks. It is hard to believe we have been together for 31 years. Through it all….good things, the loss of loved ones, illness, just all of life. And I can’t wait for the years ahead, however many more we have.
With this week’s lovely vase, I am linking in to the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, at Rambling in the Garden.
