In a Vase on Monday – Zinnia Confetti

“People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.”  ~ Iris Murdoch

I was thinking of including, in last week’s vase, the many zinnia flowering. But instead I had an idea for a fun display of just zinnia this week.

The zinnia is one tough flower and is said to mean endurance. The zinnia is one flower in my garden that endures and continues to bloom until frost. And it loves the brutal heat of summer.

I decided to display them in this precious vase given to me by a dear friend.

There are several varieties in this huge pot so I cut one of each at different lengths.

I like the structure and how the stems stick out with a pop of color at the end like confetti suspended.

I was trying to move a few other flowers when a dahlia bloom, ‘Break Out’ snapped.

So I kept it for a singular vase. I think I like this dahlia by itself. It makes such a bold statement.

With these vases, I am also joining in with the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at  Rambling in the Garden.
