“May, more than any other month of the year, wants us to feel most alive.” ~Fennel Hudson
Hurray, hurray, it’s May, it’s May! Happy Beltane. If you missed it, it was May 1st. What is Beltane you might ask? Beltane or Bealtaine is the Gaelic May Day festival. It marks the beginning of summer and is held on May 1st.
It has many traditions , but the one I love is making a posy of current blooms in my garden and placing it on the threshold of my front door for luck.
This year, the ‘Little Beauty’ species tulips were blooming en masse.
Aren’t they just stunning close up with their purply-blue centers.
So I picked a bunch and added Columbine leaves as the plant has gotten huge and could spare some leaves. I am waiting for it to bloom this month.
So much is beginning to flower, and lots of surprises in flora and fauna in the garden. Hoping to show some of the surprises soon.
This is another of my precious Belleek bud vases. A gift from a dear friend. With this vase, I am joining in with the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at Rambling in the Garden.
