In a Vase on Monday – Refusing to Rush

“…Any sensible person knows grief is a long-term project. I refuse to rush.” ~ Max Porter

While fall is rushing by, we are in slow motion as grief envelopes us. Sometimes I want it to be over so quickly, but trying to rush the process ultimately backfires….at least for me. So as we continue on this path with grief, I went to the garden.

There continue to be dribs and drabs of flowers for cutting as I put the garden to bed little by little. I can never just say let’s shut the growing season down when it is still going, and the weather is cooperating.

Marigolds and nasturtiums are blazing like the sun and autumn leaves. I am loving yellows, golds and oranges this fall.

Calendula, and one interesting red and white zinnia.

And of course California poppy just keeps going with my dahlia, Night Butterfly ,adding a bit more color to this sweet little Belleek vase. There’s a close up of the unusual zinnia. I know this vase looks very similar to a vase from a couple of weeks ago, but you use what you have this time of year in a small garden.

With this vase, I am linking in with the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at  Rambling in the Garden.
