In a Vase on Monday – The Sweetest Flowers

“The very best relationship has a gardener and a flower. The gardener nurtures and the flower blooms.”– Carole Radziwill

Isn’t that a beautiful quote….a relationship of love and nurturing between the gardener and the garden. It feels that way to me as I talk to the flowers and plants each day even in winter so they know I still care for them.

At the start of summer, we are still showing much of the late spring garden flowering profusely. Fairy roses which should keep going into much of summer.

Sweet peas just beginning as the cold snap in May delayed them.

Lavender still going strong although I will cut many back for another bloom later.

And of course nigella. These will grow like weeds if given the right conditions and allowed to seed. I planted more in a few more pots and areas so they can seed around even more. I am mesmerized by these flowers as they bud and go to seed. Each phase a beauty.

So for my little vase this week, I have incorporated these, the sweetest flowers, as I await the tropical flowers of summer still coming on. This week I used another little Belleek vase.

With this vase, I am joining in with the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at  Rambling in the Garden.
