This is the time in summer when the heat and humidity are helping the flowers pour out their fragrances. At least for a short time. The lavender will be going over soon, and I will cut them back. They will return by end of summer so I can enjoy them again.
The fairy roses will keep fading and blooming with more fading in this heat.
So to take advantage of the scents of summer, I cut some now.
And a couple of odd left over lilies, to satisfy my senses in summer. At least for now.

Nine years ago we visited the lavender field in France. It was in celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary.
