“Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.” —Sam Keen
This is a vase of beautiful burgundy-colored alstroemeria was a lovely surprise from my husband. I love these flowers because they last so long.

With all the nasturtiums and nigella still flowering, I thought I would make another vase. I seeded both in this container with a sage plant. So easy to cut right outside my door.

And of course this combo is adorable.

Right now I am nursing a sore knee. Not sure what is going on, but it is forcing me to be lazy with my vases and garden. Time to rest, read, color, and catch up on favorite British mystery shows. Maybe even do a little writing while my knee rests.
With this vase, I am linking in with the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at Rambling in the Garden.

Very pretty, I love the pale orange Nasturtium and the jewel-like Nigella. Hope your knee feels better (I’m no stranger to hot-packs myself)!
Thanks. It’s great when you throw seeds in a container and they grow up perfect companions for a vase
I love the alstromeria, but your nasturtium and nigella vase is so delightfully sweet
It was a perfect match made in a container.
I don’t think I’ve ever grown a deep burgundy Alstroemeria – I love it! The Nasturtiums and their companions are sweet too. I hope your knee improves quickly!
Yes I’ve never seen that color either. My husband picked it.
Oh, yes, both arrangements are so lovely, Donna. I really like the blue Nigella and peach Nasturtiums together–definitely eye candy! I hope your knee will feel better soon. Take care.
Thanks Beth. Yes a setback but will move forward again. Yes I agree those flower colors are scrumptious.
How thoughtful of your husband to bring you these lovely flowers. Both vases are delightful. And I love the quote! We should all be lazy from time to time, so good for the soul. Hope your knee will get better soon, take car, Donna
Thanks my friend. I will.
Lovevthe blue and orange combination Donna. Hope your knee heals soon. I think we can all do with a little ‘being lazy’ on these hot summer days though!
Agreed Cathy!
Two beauties. Your “home made” one has beautiful colors.
Thanks Janice. I loved it too!
