Orange has never been a favorite color of mine. I don’t gravitate toward it when I color or decorate or even when I buy clothes. But when I see it in my garden it brings me such incredible joy. So unexpected with deep vibes of positivity. Yes I would even say hope.
It is a particular favorite of my husband so I was not surprised when he brought me home these stunning orange double peony tulips. He remembered I did want some spring flowers and in particular tulips. So of course my eyes bugged out like a kid in a candy store. Just in awe of these amazing flowers.
I have taken about 25 pictures of these tulips….
as they have slowly opened.
A perfectly dreamy vase.
And here are a few other vases I created last week with the cold weather still around. When the weather cleared a bit on May 1, I got out to cut flowers for a proper vase to put at my threshold. These lovely daffs were still blooming profusely and sending up new flowers.
I added some purple pansies and love the look. The vine is a sprig of philodendron I am rooting.
Then later in the week the ‘Little Beauty Tulips’ also took off as it warmed a tiny bit, and I picked some more. They are naturalizing in beautifully in year two.
What better complementing flower than pansies.
I finished a few more coloring pages for my #the100dayproject. This artistic/creative practice actually began on January 1st as a year long practice, and was a no-brainer for using as my 100 day project too.
