“You are my sweet serenity. Your quietude brings much needed relief from the frenzy of life.” ~Donna Donabella, Dear Summer, A Journey of Seasonal of Wisdom
Welcome Summer! With the Solstice we are welcoming summer this week. I always feel a bit discombobulated when the seasons change. And it is no different when we shift from spring to summer. This year we have not hit our summer weather. Insects are delayed. And we keep shifting to cool weather.

I am waiting for the lazy days. The fireworks of the fireflies lighting up the meadows and woods. The hot humid days where even the breezes offer no respite.

And lots of summer blooms everywhere. For now, I am cutting the small fun flowers blooming as spring ends and summer begins.

Hardy geranium, 3 colors of nigella; white, blue and purple. Lavender, thyme and the first fairy rose. All singing with the pollinators as summer begins.

This week marks Pollinator Week an annual celebration in support of pollinator health. You can find more info from Pollinator Partnership. I hope you will join me in raising awareness for pollinators. The great thing about Pollinator Week is that you can celebrate and get involved any way you like
How do you welcome in summer? How do you to celebrate and protect pollinators where you live?
