In a Vase on Monday – Contained Garden

“The very best relationship has a gardener and a flower. The gardener nurtures and the flower blooms.” ~Carole Radziwill

My containers are being prematurely pulled as our property owners are power washing the buildings with chemicals and water, and I have to cut things back and pull flowers.

Once more I have to cover plants and move my containers to spare them from abuse. This is the view from my office window, spider webs on the screen and all.

I cut lots of fun flowers and coleus foliage from front containers. The honey bees were not happy.

I do remember the coleus, bacopa or Sutera cordata and cleome were in the containers.

I added a few flower sprigs from the heuchera.

I don’t remember the name of the fluffy white annual flowers in the center. This vase reminds me of those front containers every time I look at it. And that gives me some solace.

With this vase, I am joining in with the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at  Rambling in the Garden.

  1. I’m sorry you need to pull your containers and cut your flowers back prematurely but I’m glad you could make use of them in a vase, Donna. Your property managers seem very zealous. Could the fluffy white flowers be Euphorbia ‘Diamond Frost’?

  2. A nice way to hold onto our gardens after their demise either by property managers or frost… whichever comes first, I guess!
Kris beat me to the Euphorbia ID. 😉

  3. You made lemonade out of the power washing situation, Donna. Must be discouraging to have to pull these containers while still so vibrant. The inside arrangements are fabulous though and I hope some of the items keep in water for a long time.

  4. The vase is gorgeous Donna – you have managed to put so many lovely things together without it looking overcrowded. How annoying about the pressure washing, just when all your containers are looking so pretty.

  5. Such frustrating restrictions, Donna, and so impersonal too. The loss of your outside treasures is your inside-the-house gain, and IAVOM’s too, as it has created a very fetching display. Thanks for sharing it
