“As Summer turns her face to Fall, The birds, the bees, the butterflies call.” ~Donna Donabella, Turning To Fall, A Journey of Seasonal Wisdom
This time of year is precious. Each minute of daylight is celebrated as the sun sinks earlier and earlier into its setting. The air starts to cool and I wake up to dew. The days warm and the lazy bees keep collecting pollen albeit in slow motion.

I love when we warm back up before that first frost. Each week there are more chores to be done in the garden. I take it slow now too.

This week I still have dribs and drabs of flowers blooming so I picked them and made this homage to summer turning to fall.

I love the rich darker” fallish” colors of marigolds, pink annual geraniums, zinnias, cosmos and Night Butterfly dahlia as the cherry on top.
As fall moves along, what are you doing to celebrate this season?
With this vase, I am linking in with the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at Rambling in the Garden.

These last warm days are indeed most precious!
Time for me to get out and savor every one.
The Night Butterfly dahlia is stunning. Sounds like you’re making the most of this transitional time of year. Happy Autumn, Donna!
Yes that dahlia was a happy mistake sent in error. It has been prolific and stunning in the garden and vase. I recommend it.
All such pretty blooms, Donna, and well worth celebrating!
Each flower that continues until frost is so worth celebrating.
Your flowers do a great job of celebrating your early fall weather, Donna. The only real signs of fall here at present are the increasingly shorter days. I can’t even claim a nip in the air yet.
Iām not sure how I would deal with a delayed fall. But I would love the sunshine and flowers!
Very pretty, especially that lovely dahlia. Enjoy the start of the new season Donna!
Thanks. Enjoy your autumn too!
Dribs and drabs are the best. My favorite groupings are the simple ones that are nods to precious moments, as you describe. <3
They are the champions.
Lovely dribs and drabs
Thanks so much.
What a lovely homage to summer turning to fall ā the darker marigolds and zinnias with the Night Butterfly dahlia on top make such a rich mix. I’m enjoying this dribs-and-drabs season too.
Glad you enjoyed the dribs and drabs.
