Let’s Do Spring!

“Spring adds new life and new beauty to all that is.”

~Jessica Harrelson

My my it has been quite a while since I have been back here. I had every intention of coming back to my blog and writing last spring, but once again life happened. So here we are a year and a half since my last post.

But what better time to return than when my garden is waking, and I can make a sweet little vase of early snowdrops, iris reticulata and snow crocus.

All were eagerly growing under the many feet of snow covering my garden from January through early March. This in late January when there wasn’t much snow. But oh it was frigid cold for weeks.

Now the garden is pouring forth new growth daily. And more of our feathered friends are returning each week. I still have physical limits so I will make my return slow. But this return is already feeling right.

And timing is everything. Soon I will have some exciting news to share.

With this sweet little vase, I am returning to the wonderful meme, In A Vase On Monday, from Cathy at  Rambling in the Garden.

  1. Your posy is most endearing, even more so when you look at all the snow and cold they had to go through. Plants and humans show amazing strength and resilience when need be. Hope all is well with you. Happy spring days

  2. Donna, so exciting to see you back. What a snow! Makes the resilience of little flowers more remarkable. Keeping you in my thoughts for your continued healing and well-being.

    1. Thanks Susie. I am still in therapy to continue to heal. And I agree those little flowers are the strongest blooms after winter showing me the way to healing.

  3. What lovely little spring flowers, Donna, and their appearance after all that snow must have been a real joy! What was the deepest snow you have had this winter?

    1. I think we had a three day event with 3 feet, but we had 4-5 feet piling up for days and weeks and plowed snow banks were as high as 8-10 feet. Glad you enjoyed the posy. It was a surprise and a joy!

  4. Hello Donna! Welcome back, good to see your post. Happy Spring, what a winter we had, eh?

  5. Those first spring flowers are the best, aren’t they! We wait so long for them and I wonder if they know how much we love them. Glad you are returning to the blogging world Donna. Have a good week!
