In a Vase on Monday – Autumn Breezes In

“As long as autumn lasts, I shall not have hands, canvas and colors enough to paint the beautiful things I see.” ~ Vincent Van Gogh

The nights have turned colder. The days warmed by that beautiful autumn sunshine.

Clouds playing against a deep ocean blue sky. Rain falling a little drearier because of its chill. Pumpkins brighten while Chrysanthemums begin to open. Many flowers continue to pump out blooms until frost. Tomatoes slowly ripen on the decaying vines. Apples are unmistakable by their sweet cloying scent and the bees buzzing around them as many lie on the ground now. Leaves starting to turn and fall with that unmistakeable smell that fall has indeed arrived. These are the wonders of fall I began to see as the season arrived this past weekend.

So when my husband brought me home more alstroemeria from the grocery store, I was delighted these opened as burnt orange color.

Perfect for the start of autumn.

And the perfect spot for their display, is in the living room area of the great room.

  1. Some lovely observations of Autumn, Donna – and what a lovely shade of alstroemeria your husband brought home for you! Thanks for sharing them

  2. I’m embracing the oranges and related colors of fall too, Donna. Your Alstromerias are lovely. I’m hoping mine will return with the cooler temperatures.
